Join us on January 23, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm for the opening reception of Documenting Black Families.

In collaboration with Vintage Black Canada, this ​exhibit will explore the ways Black families living across Southern Ontario document the formal and informal gatherings that make up their lives, daily rituals and routines.

Archival Black family images have for too long been absent from public archives. This exhibition seeks to fill that void, ​convey the importance of memorializing candid, joyful moments for Black families ​and provide a counter-narrative to how Black families are typically depicted in media.
